about
Run Run Run (Leaving the Village) is the second single from Miss Nöyd’s upcoming EP ‘Leaving the Village’. It talks to anyone who ever felt the need of leaving their hometown in or village in order to pursue something new.
Directed at anyone who needs to hear them, her lyrics are a detached deconstruction of humdrum hometown living. While nodding to her Norwegian origins with references to children’s parades, and national days, she manages to impart a sentiment that is relatable to anyone who has ever felt suffocated by the insular society from which they hail.
Run Run Run (Leaving the Village) is an example of a less minimalistic approach to production when compared to her previous release, It’s alright, honey. Working with producer Andres Barlesi, she has created a swirling blend of dulcet tones. Sedated drums are padded by the docile drawn-out notes of the bass and organ, while a slide guitar pensively swells, and a piano plods percussively.
