about
This is the first single from Miss Nöyd released on the Trondheim-based indie-label Westergaard Records. The song is recorded at Store Studio in North of Norway – by many referred to as the Nordic Abbey Road, thanks to the studios' combination of expertise, premises, and technical equipment.
'I Guess You're My Man' is about souring expectations and drowning sorrows. The staccato musical delivery emulates the jagged pain felt by anyone who has been disappointed in love, and the lyrics, in contrast, reflects on the notion that perhaps seeking perfection in love is delusional.
lyrics
I'm sorry for the way you treat me
Want to leave your ghost behind
All the dogs running loose in this city
Makes me think of how you used to
Smile at me
When I said; 'Im about to leave you'
I need love
To keep me warm
I need faith
To keep me strong
Never asked you to leave me
And I don´t know if I can
So I guess...
Your father said; 'You're way too young for lovin'
So he paid a prostitute to get you goin'
I want light in your eyes, not confetti
With the fear to be left behind
I need love
To keep me warm
I need faith
To keep me strong
Never asked you to leave me
And I don´t know if I can
So I guess...
So I guess
You're My Man
